What is AdBlue®
As of 2013, all new heavy diesel vehicles are fitted with Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF) emissions reduction technology.
In 2013, the Australian government introduced strict exhaust emission requirements for heavy vehicles, as part of their plan to reduce air pollution. To meet these requirements, all new heavy vehicles are fitted with a treatment unit to store diesel exhaust fluids such as AdBlue®.

How AdBlue® Works
AdBlue®, also commonly known as DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) or AUS 32, is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. The use of AdBlue® exhaust systems are now the preferred method of meeting Tier 4 Final and Euro 6 Diesel emissions standards for heavy trucks, and also for cars, light commercial vehicles and agricultural diesel machinery.
This DEF is stored in a separate tank to diesel, and is accurately injected into the SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system of your vehicle via a computer to ensure the exhaust gases are safely converted into nitrogen and water while you drive.
